    Default Proposed rule change....USEF

    http://www.usef.org/documents/ruleChanges/010-10.pdf

Someone please tell me what this means. I am not trying to stir the pot, I honestly don't know. What semi-finals, are we talking about.. and 70% at what level?

It says Dressage Seat Medal classes... I guess equitation classes for dressage riders.

I haven't seen that offered at any of the shows I've been too, but can't say I'm interested in it either. Did plenty of eq in H/J's years ago, no interest in going there again.

Currently, if you qualify for your regional championships, you can enter the Dressage Seat Medal Semi-Final. They are trying to change it so that you have to ride an equitation class at a rated show and get the score and placing in order to ride in the semi-final at regionals. It's kind of like they are adding a quarter-final.

It is so vague, so essentially it is just another "class"...but what championship or what level?

If you read the current rule and the Intent of the Proposal, it will make sense. It is purely giving USEF more time to set up an addition to the way riders qualify now.

Thanks all, I am not sure how to find the original rule, I seem to be a little search challenged. Link please?

Look in the USEF Rule Book. If you don't have a copy, the whole thing is online

What level is this test at? Is it only open to Jr/YR like H/J Medal or are adults allowed to ride in it, too? Anyone know the scoop?

It is for JR/YR only. There is a 13 and under and a 14-18 year old group. They ask for First Level movements.
