Does anyone know more about a charitable drive for snaffle bits to be used in India, rather than the home-made bit that are currently being used?
Haven't heard of anything. I lived there for a couple of years and most of the horses I saw either had regular bits (ie, mass produced ones) or normal looking bits made by a blacksmith.
I have to say, though, that my concern for Indian cart horses would not be focused on their bits.
According to the Mayan calendar, the world will not end this week. Please plan your life accordingly.
Hmm never heard of it either. There are many types of horses there. Racehorses, polo horses, old princely people who still have horses etc.
But yes if are talking of the ones that are still modes of transportation and beasts of burdens, yeah as loshad said, bits would not be the primary concern.
