Default Sad news...Trak stallion Hailo died yesterday

Just found out that the Trakehner stallion, Hailo, from Valhalla Farms died yesterday from colic. Very sad, he was a neat boy. Had the pleasure to ride him several times.

yes, he was euthanized yesterday... As Jean said "it is the end of an era"... My breeding program was pretty heavily influenced by the Hailo *Pg*E* lines and he will be greatly missed. I went out and hugged all my Hailo grandbabies and great grandbabies etc tonight. Condolences to Jean, Erin, and everyone else associated with Valhalla and Hailo.. The Trakehner breed just lost a major influence.

What sad news - my heart goes out to Jean and everyone at Valhalla.

One of my favorite horses was a son of Hailo. At one time we had several of his babies and grand-babies at my trainer's farm - you could always pick them out across the farm. He stamped them like few other stallions I've seen, even in extended generations. My trainer once told me that they had my Hailo grandson at a show and someone spotted him across the ring and came over to ask if he was a Hailo baby.
