I have a mare that had her first foal in 2009. She had never been particularly marish prior to the foal. The foal was weaned in October and her behavior since then has changed dramatically. She is displaying what I would consider stallion characteristics when any other horse walks by her stall, looks at her or is in the general vacinity of her. Striking out, and squeeling in a very dramatic manor. She is not acting like she is in heat, could this just be an extreme anestrus phase? Just wondering if any of you have seen this before.
