My 15yo gelding and I are just starting out in showing (his first time - me I'm coming back to it). With training and showing, would it be best to put him on SmartPak's Daily Omegas Plus? I like the look of it and the price is good. I've already got him on a preventative MSM supplement daily.
What is it about training and showing that make you think he needs this supplement? Or, what is it about this supplement (other than the advertising) that makes you think your horse needs it? Is his diet deficient somehow? Do you know what he's getting in the forage and grain he receives? SmartPak is great, but man they like to sell an ingredient (flax seed, in this case) 75 different ways, don't they? Why not just feed some flax seed, if you think he's deficient in fatty acids and/or Omega 3-6-9s? You can probably buy a year's worth for the cost of one month of yet another SmartPak item.
I feed this, having switched over from Platinum Performance. I can get free shipping from Smartpak if I look for the codes, and the ingredients are very comparable - and it's a tad cheaper. So I'm trying it for now.
My horses don't get grain and they are on it as their multivitamin.
