Okay folks, the deadline is past and I still have about 10 people who have asked to join.
So since so many of you seem to have issues with deadlines, http://chronicleforums.com/images/cu...milies/lol.gif http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_wink.gif here ya go.
From now until November 1st, IF YOU WANT TO SIGN UP, email me! There is one proviso, though - you have to be willing to spend between $20-30. That's the only group I have going and it will be too much work for me to handle more than one group along with driving from Texas to Virginia in a few days, and then probably packing my house up to move back to Texas.
So make it easy on me and keep your dollar range between $20-30. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif
This will mean that you won't get your participant until November 1st, but that will still give you a whole month to shop for him/her, since you don't have to mail the gift until the first week of December.
Email me at cothswap@hotmail.com if you want to join! (And fill out the poll before so I can rate the degree of interest I have here.)

Since several people have asked, let me clarify here:
Last year we all signed up to do a swap, agreeing to keep our identities secret until the gifts were received and/or opened. Little hints were given throughout the month of December to make it more fun to guess who your Secret Santa was.
Basically, you choose a spending limit - 1) $10 and under, 2) $10-20, 3) $20-30, 4) The sky's the limit! - and you're paired with a partner who agreed to spend about the same amount on you. You're given a list of things your partner wants/needs to facilitate gift shopping, and you supply me with a list yourself to give to your partner. Any communications go through the swap host, unless you've set up an alternate email for your alter identity.
You then mail their package NO LATER THAN December 5th, to ensure it getting there by Christmas, and you sit back and wait for your own gift to arrive.
It's a lot of fun! http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif
Does that clear things up any?

What are some of the gifts given? Are they horse related? Do they have to be?

The gifts given are anything your partner requests or that you think he/she might like. They don't have to be horse related unless you want them to be or your partner specifically requests it. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif

This time last year, I was horseless. My Secret Santa gave me the cutest little stuffed horse, plus a necklace with a sterling silver horse charm - so then I had two horses instead of none! It was so much fun, I loff'd it!

Oh Yes let's do it again!!!!
I had so much fun being a Secret Santa and shopping for my person's gifts. Elizabeth told me she liked horse socks, so I found her a neat pair of socks, a nice horse sweater, a cool christmas tree ornament, horse shampoo, a rubber grooma and horse treats!!!
Fairweather was my secret santa and I received a beautiful leather grooming halter with a brass name plaque on it for my gift. I love my halter.
Put me down as a BIG YES!!!!

Cool! http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...on_biggrin.gif And I see someone left the iron on... http://chronicleforums.com/images/cu...milies/lol.gif http://chronicleforums.com/images/cu...milies/lol.gif
I wonder if Erin could make this a sticky so we don't have to keep bumping it, and everyone who wants to join can? I'll have to ask her.

It was a FABULOUS Christmas package, LoriO!! Thank you again. I have the jangley cow-bell ornament hanging on my office door (to warn me of intruders year-round http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_wink.gif ), my socks get worn regularly, and everything else has also been such fun.

I want to do it again, too. Now that I have LoriO's model of Christmas buying ("get cool stuff and LOTS of it"), I am ready to go to town.
