Default Riding lessons in Starkville, MS. Anyone know anywhere?

My sister lives there and works at the University. Her daughter wants to take lessons but they can't find anything. They have looked around at feed stores but I think they don't know what to ask since they are not getting a good response. Any discipline would be fine. Her daughter is 9. TIA

Growing up I used to show at Rock Hill Stables in Columbus, MS which isn't too far from Starkville. Here's their info from google.

    5975 Old w Point Road
    Columbus, MS 39701-9546
    (662) 327-7820

That was 20 years ago, so I don't know if they teach anymore.

I think the owner's name was Jan.

Maybe try calling the receptionists at the vet school? They might have a better idea of who is in the area.

Hi! My daughter is a junior at MSU. Several of my former students also go there; two are currently in the equestrian studies program.

J3 Ranch used to offer very good eventing lessons in Starkville, but since they retired some years ago I haven't heard of any new good ones popping up. A couple of my students have ridden for the MSU team but came to me for top ups when possible, though I'm 2 1/2 hours away.

However, contacting the vet school is a good idea. They have a very good equestrian studies program, and it could be that some of the students in it would be able and willing to start a youngster. Please feel free to contact me privately if you wish.

    Best!
