I had a feeling this was going to happen, thank God I didn't sleep through it--I have been so sleep deprived. My poor mare Lauren has been HUGE and keeping me on foal watch for the past two weeks (making me totally miss Decoupages foaling!) I swear if your mare is BIG and looks like she's going to foal every night for days on end be ready for twins. This is the third set I've had born here over the years and it was the same scenario each time.

I have two lovely colts by Blonder Hans born between 2:30 and 3:00 am this morning, one is a bay the other smaller/weaker one a buckskin. They are both well conformed, pretty good size and can get up on their own. I am worried about the buckskin so jingles that we will beat the odds and have two healthy babies. Will keep you all updated!

    Oh my!

Having lost a few sets of twins, I understand your angst. Everything up north is crossed for the wee one! It is good that they can both stand by themselves though...

So far so good, they have both nursed, though the buckskin or maybe he's a smokey black--can't tell haven't had any of either before is having a harder time. He will probably have to be tubed. Vet due here any minute to check IGG levels. Here is a photo of my boys...

I hope they pull through for you! I think its a good sign that they are standing and at least trying to nurse.

They actually look exceptional considering they are twins. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for all the best. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c.../icon_wink.gif
