    Default Where's Gnep?

I haven't seen him post for a while. He has a great deal of knowledge and information about eventing and I wondered if he was OK.

Last I remember was that thread where people (including myself) were arguing about upper level riders v lower level riders.

I know he got a lot of flack.. maybe he just needed a break from the drama.

I miss "seeing" him on here, too. We've emailed a couple of times and last time I heard from him he was fine. RAyres might have more current scoop.

I just sent him a text. If he doesn't text back, I will try calling him tomorrow.

Sometimes it does get a little heated. I think a break every now and then is understandable.

I spoke with him several weeks ago, and he has had a really bad winter. One storm dropped so much snow that he had to drive his tractor (no cab) to town so he could get a ride to his business , as the power was out there, and he couldn't even get his car out. I think that it has only gotten worse. I need to call him, but have been waiting to hear about the venue change for our event.

He's fine. Called me an Ugly Bastard this morning. Like the rest of us, he has that whole real life thing going, as TLA pointed out, so he is not "around" here so much.

Speaking of that mesa, I can't begin to imagine driving a tractor down it.
Even with the new chains he told me he bought for it.

I wonder how much beer it'll cost me to have him drive my horse van down that grade...

I'm determined to meet him this year. I've interacted with him here, on email, and I KNOW I've been to events he's been at....but couldn't pick him out.

Not going to Las Cruces this month....but I will in the fall. Will he be doing any Area V stuff this year? Where else might I meet the legend?

Well, I didn't get a text. Guess I'll email him.

If you want to meet him, pop a top and he'll show! LOL

No seriously, look for a big truck with a pack of dogs on the flatbed. Their names should be Roadside, Sidewalk, I don't remember them all. I'm sure there are others by now.

Text message? Cell phone? Last time his prepaid cell ran out of minutes, when he went to recharge it, it was so old that he had to get a new one. I don't even have the new number - email and land line are reliable. I don't know how much snow he got yesterday. We got about 10".

Tom, I know what you mean. My DH has a cell phone, but rarely charges it. Absolutley does not text, and hasn't been on the internet since our son was in the Marines in 2001.

He leaves the farm for a coule of hours about once a week to visit his mother, otherwise it's work work work. He says he gets plenty of off the farm time during competition season.
