We have a silly little saying when at events - "look at the grass and you'll fall on you're a$$, look to the sky and you'll jump high"

She also wears a necklace saying "shut up and ride"

    I love this topic!

    "Yes! Yes! No! No!"
"Were you hungry?" (after eating a jump)
"You didn't see that distance did you?"
"That looked like an "oh shit, I'd better stay on jump."
    "Do Not Fall Off!!!!"
"Yeah, uh, listen, that was really good, but not at all what I wanted..."
"Go until you just can't go anymore, then go around two more times." (without stirrups)
"Use your leg! Use your leg! Oh wait, I forgot, you're really short, you have no leg... Um... Pretend you have leg!!!"

that's it for now. But I have a lesson with my other trainer tomorrow. We'll see what I come home with http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif

"Your the brains, your horse is the athlete!!"

I heard the following from a true cowboy, the good kind, and I agree with it. "Generally, when looking for a horse for a youth, the combined age of the horse and rider should equal 21 years." Makes sense, mount a 10 year old kid on an 11 year old horse. A 17 year old kid can ride a 3 or 4 year old horse. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_c...icon_smile.gif
