Our own RunForIt was cantering her beloved Rasta along a fenceline at her farm when the neighbors' kids flew by in a speeding golf cart. Rasta bucked and bronced, and RFI fell on her head and neck. Her husband was close by and ran over, and found her conscious and talking. After he helped her to her feet, however, she complained of dizziness and nausea.
She was taken by ambulance to the local ER, where they diagnosed a broken neck. She was then flown by helicopter to a major hospital in Atlanta.
We are unbelievably lucky that she is not paralyzed. She will not be having surgery and will instead be wearing a halo vest for several months. If all goes well in the next several days, she will be able to go home.
As you can guess, it will be a long road for her. COTH jingles have helped many people and horses-- please send as many as you can. If you would like to send cards, PM me and I will give you her mailing address.
