Default BOs or Managers- How do you do your accounting?

Do you do your own, or outsource?

I do freelance bookkeeping, and would love to trade my services for partial board or lessons or something, but my first thought is that there must be stable management software that does this for you.

I know most BOs struggle to stay in the red, so this isn't something they'd want to pay for.

How do you manage your finances BOs?

I use QuickBooks and do my own bookkeeping. However one of my trainers has someone that enters in billing info, does monthly statements, etc. for him so you may be able to barter your services for board. It never hurts to ask!

I do it myself. I am an accountant so I know how. I am using Quickbooks currently but am exploring a much less pricey no thrills program that also does payroll.

My husband does ours. He uses Quickbooks as well. Puts everything on a disk, gives it to our accountant who then files for us.

We have a number of friends who also own boarding stables however, none of them do their books themselves, so yes there is demand for services such as you are offering, in my part of the world.

My goal is to stay in the BLACK but certainly there is a lot of red ink in the horse profession.

    I use a ledger and a pencil.

And that barter is taxable--you have to record the free board as income and the BO records your bookkeeping as expense. it would be nice ot actually exchange money in fact.

I use Quickbooks and do my own.
