    Default Dress sheet vs. Cooler

What are the differences between a cooler and a dress sheet? Or are they the same thing? I'm shopping on Dover and it's got me confused. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they are the same thing. More important than the name is the material it is made out of...I don't think fleece and jersey dry them as quickly as wool.

a cooler is big and square. goes from ears to tail.

a dress sheet is fitted like an indoor barn sheet. goes from chest to tail.

doesn't matter what the material is.

I'm not saying material determines what it is called.

In catalogues you will find coolers that are fitted as well.

I consider a dress sheet to be something that you'd bring your horse to the show ring in on a cold day. Usually they have that fancy stitching near the butt, a leather closure up front, etc.

A cooler might be a bit more casual...something you use around the barn at home or as a blanket liner. A cooler can also be one of those big square things, but not always. A dress sheet is never a big square thing.

But, I don't think there's really much of a distinction. Check out this description of the Rambo Newmarket Cooler from Beval's. The 2 terms are used to describe the same product.

I would probably call this a dress sheet, but again, both terms are used:
