    Default Boarding near Douglasville, Georgia

Can anyone recommend a boarding barn in the Douglasville, GA (west Atlanta) area? It doesn’t have to be big or fancy. My main concerns are good turnout, decent footing, and preferably lights for winter riding. Oh, and a reasonable price wouldn’t hurt either!

Note: I’m posting this on the eventing board because of the cross- over opportunities but would love hear about any dressage, H/J, or multi-discipline farms that any of you could recommend.

    Thanks!

A friend of mine owns Valley West Farm. I believe the facility is 60 some acres and they just built a new barn. The property backs up to some sort of reserve where they are permitted to ride. http://valleywestga.com/

Horses will receive excellent care and you have one of the best dressage trainers to work with. Leslie graduated from Morven Park years ago and trained with the late Ann Ticehurst for years. She is a R dressage judge and just all around good person. Please tell her Jeanie said hi!

It's a great place. I've only been there a couple weeks but the people there really care about your horse which is the most important thing to me.

    Fooler,

Didn't Leslie's barn flood? Is she taking boarders? How are the facilities?

I live in South Carolina - but according to their web-site the property is back to normal. They did flood and I believe 2 horses were killed due to the flooding.
Have known Leslie for 30+ years and you will be more than pleased with her stable management and her training. Plus she has many contacts to help widen your overall knowledge.
