Default Possible EHV1 Fort Mill, SC/Charlotte, NC

heard today that 1 confirmed horse at Anne Springs in Fort Mill was euth'ed - possibly EHV1. From the emails I've seen it appears two more farms have it as well.

Anyone know of this? I've spoken with my vet who knows nothing and I've spoken to the director of ASC and he did confirm a horse was euth'ed and the vet suspects EHV1.

I can't confirm anything else the email I have says. Will be happy to PM the email or forward it, not posting it publicly at this point.

Guess not - from what I know it's more in the western crowd which isn't as prevalent here.

Default Any EHV1 updates for Charlotte NC area?

I too have heard of possible euthanization due to EHV1 at both the Greenway and another farm. I've heard of up to 5 that may have been put down due to the virus. Nothing confirmed yet.
I hope once they get necropsy results in they'll notify the community so everyone can take appropriate measures. We can self-quarentine to protect ourselves, but we still have farriers, vets, deliveries, etc, that visit & need to be informed.

From the latest news it was most likely a toxin and not EHV1 - best to check with your vets if any questions.
