    Default Rogers, MN: Looking for hay feeder

    Good evening,

    the hay feeder must be absolutely safe and ready to be used for horses.

    Please PM price and photos with all corresponding info.

    Thank you very much in advance!

    Default have you looked into inverted tires?

    that's what I use. Indestructible, horse-safe, contains the mess. When the ground gets too beat up around them, just roll them to a new spot. Plus it's good karma for recycling!
    Here's one website in case you don't know what I'm talking about. http://www.bigskytirefeeders.com/
    I got mine from guy in Illinois near the quad cities, but there's probably someone in your area too.

    Good evening, HungarianHippo!

    Thanx for pointing me to this. They definitely look like a economic alternative to the classic metal racks. But will the horses step inside?! And are they sort of sharp at the inside (where edge touches the wheel rim)?!

    Maybe somebody around the Twin Cities uses/sells them so I could have a look?

    Any other suggestion for a new or used hay feeder is appreciated.

    Thank you!
    Petra

    I have a big bale buddy. It is cheap $115 delivered. It is safe. It is easy to use. Google it!

    @Dad Said Not To: Thanx! I will check with them.

    @mustangtrailrider: Interesting product!

    “Only” problem is, that currently small bales are fed. So I am now thinking, wondering if it makes sense though, to look into a (smaller) round bale feeder that could also be used for big bales one day.

    Thank you again!
