Default Can you use Oragel on a horse?

One of my younger pony's canine teeth are coming in and he is sensative in the bridle. The dentist had said to rub a bit of bute on his gums when working him. I was wondering if I could use oragel to numb his sore area a bit? Has anyone else done this?

Yes, you can do it. Yes I have done it. Have a huge puller who would sometimes make his mouth raw. It is not FEI legal. Don't think you care.
