    Horse driving trials.

It's a 3 phase event to test fitness, bravery, accuracy and agility and how well trained the light harness horse is.

Basically it's the same as ridden horse trials except with a carriage.

Cross country marathon with timed sections.

    Cones (instead of showjumping!)

    Dressage

Also called a Combined Driving Trials or CDE

I knew what combined driving was and CDE but I had never heard of HDT. Do the letters stand for something because I can't figure out what they would be?

Actually, in the US, a HDT is like a horse trial, with only the section E, where the hazards are. There is no Section A, trot, or B, walk. Only E. A CDE is all sections, like a real event has a trot section, steeplechase, etc. Like Rolex here, not just a horse trial.

Only Price, sadly, not anymore. There are only one or two long formats left in the world and none higher than 1* level.
