Default What's your favorite photo from the 09 breeding season.

I'm going to pick just 2 even though that is REALLY hard! But for me this epitomizes why I breed. The joy we get from these little fellows. Both babies are by Bravo and I just love the look on their owners faces.

Does anybody else have any favorites they'd like to share?

This is my favorite.... it's not a "great" photo in the usual sense, but I just love it.

I didn't take the photo, and it was just taken with a cell phone camera.... but it is of our absolute MIRACLE filly at 8 days old, sleeping in my daughter's lap, taken by her with her cell phone.

This filly was a bottle baby until she was 11 days old, when she woke up one morning and wanted milk from her mom instead of the bottle. I had fed her every hour between 6 am and midnight for those first 11 days, and would set the alarm for every 2 hours in the intervening time. I milked the mare each time, so it was an extremely grueling schedule. We battled her being unable to stand, contracted tendons, wrapping, unwrapping, ulcers, a hole in her hoof, an injury and more. The hardest thing I've ever done.... and she is thriving. Looking at her today, you would never know what a hard start she had.

She is now weaned and out with the other foals -- but whenever she sees me I get the nicest possibly whinny, and she runs to be with me. She is indeed very special.

Man that's a hard one... this is probably one of my favorites... it's such an incredible feeling putting so much time into getting a foal on the ground, raising them, and then having them do well at a show. It's an unbeatable feeling.

This is a filly by Solomon, born February 7, 2009.

Here are a few other favorites I found flipping through photobucket real fast:

These I love because it kind of emphasizes the temperament that Solomon throws:

And just a couple more (it's too hard to choose!), this is my Fabuleux filly, with her "look at me" attitude:

My sister caught a little moment between my filly and I shortly after she got her first bath. It's definitely a season favourite:

This one isn't necessarily from the "breeding season", but it is of her dam (kinda!) shortly after weaning. I just love this picture.

Sabine, you have to be a premium member (ie, subscription to the magazine) vs just poting on the BB.

There really were some great moments this year! Dressage Diva's flat out new born was wonderful.

Here's my guy with his mouth full... as always.

This is the first time one of my mares foaled during the day. Since we foal outdoors, I don't get many (any) newborn pics. So this is my favorite.
