    Default Recipes for low-sugar treats?

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find it on a search of the forum. I'm looking for treat recipes for my IR horse. I've been buying Beet Treats and Skode's Horse Treats, but I realized that I have a lot of the same ingredients in the feed room already (flax meal, non-molasses BP), as well as in my kitchen. Can anyone point me to a source for treat recipes for the IR horse?
Google searches just turn up web sites selling horse treats. If I can't find a recipe, I'll probably just order more from Skode's.

    Default Safe Treats for IR

If your horse is confirmed IR, you (& he/she!) would be better off just not giving treats all together. If you are really compelled to give a treat, celery & dried peas are safe for IR horses. The peas are a nice little source of protein. I disagree with the previous poster's recommendation of carrots. Sorry, I don't have any recipes. I used the celery & peas, in moderation, for my IR guy. Cheap & easy when you just have to give them something

Hilton herbal treats are good. You can find them at SmartPak. My horses love them.
