    Default 2009 Bluebonnet Horse Expo

If you get to come, look for me. I'll be the one running around in 5 million different directions at once.

It is almost here – the 2009 Bluebonnet Horse Expo!

    October 10, 2009
    9:00 am – 6:00 pm
Travis County Expo Center – 7311 Decker Lane, Austin, Texas - Event goes on rain or shine as this is a covered facility

Join us for a day of fun, family, friends, learning.. and best of all HORSES! The day includes clinics

    Clinics throughout the day include:
Michael Vermaas "From Rescue to Competition"
    Jere Johnson "Horsenalities"
    Charlotte Morris "Muscles in Motion"
Kay McFall "Horse Safety: On the Ground, Mounting, Dismounting & 1-Rein Stops"
    Kaylon Sullins "Horse Psychology"
Cathy Sullins "The Mechanics of Bits"
    "Top" Ramirez "Communicating Through Problems"

Prime Time Express, Lone Star Vaulters and the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association will all be performing as well.

The day also include a live and silent auction of horse items – including several gently used saddles (dressage, all purpose, western), a pony cart, and much more as well as a great vendor area, Parade of Breeds, rescue horses to meet and much more. This year also includes the inaugural Bluebonnet Art Show and inaugural Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge.

We hope you can attend and hope you’ll share this with your clients.

You can learn more at www.bluebonnethorseexpo.com

PS. We also still have vendor spaces and sponsorship opportunities available. And we’re still accepting donations of new and used horse and farm/ranch items as well as amateur and professional art work.

Hope this is a very successful event for you guys. Texas is a bit far for me to go though I would like to one day
Our horses are not seen as the old and disabled they may have become, but rather as the mighty steeds they once believed themselves to be.

    Great job Jenn!

It looked like it was pretty darn organized from the outside, and you some great vendors. How did it do as a fundraiser?

PS - Props to your entrance staff. They were very nice and helpful before asking for money.

Kimberlee, you just made my day. I am SO GLAD to get input from someone not involved in planning or putting it on. I think it was the best event we have had yet. And I think they will just keep getting better.

I should have totals today. We started on Friday night at our volunteers dinner with a $5,000 check given to us by a new foundation opening up in CA. So that was an awesome way to start the event (and it was a surprise to me - they presented it to me and I was almost in tears ).

Kate66, it was good to see you again, too. I hope we cna get down to your area in Nov. or Dec. and maybe have lunch or dinner.

I am already excited for next year. I have to get to work on our black tie event this week, but we will be working on the 2010 Expo starting soon.

We welcome suggestions from anyone who attended.

DGRH - you need to fly down next year.

I'm in your state now - but on the other side. It is freaking cold here - I didn't bring warm enough clothes!
