Taking two things into account.
1) I live in Michigan, and the cold side of the state for that matter (west coast)
2) Indoor riding, not planning on "off roading" during the winter months.
I was looking at the Dover catalog, and cannot seem to find a winter breech that is not pricey, and that comes in my size (cough 18ish cough). I plan on losing some weight, but I hate being "skinny" in the winter-I get cold easy.
Suggestions for keeping warm this winter? And not taking out a loan?
Cuddle Duds. Love them. I find that they fit a bit small, however.
In Alaska , I would wear tights, long undies, wool socks, a turtle neck, a sweater, big parka, jeans, lined gloves, and boots. Not for riding-just to keep warm!!!
I also lurk around the stores for thin cashmere sweaters to wear underneath up top. I've gotten them for as little as $8 at year end sales.
I'm chucking all of my "fashionable" coats this year and loading up on Carhartts, so I can wear one out in public without hay/wet beet pulp/slobber/muck on it.
For northern Ontario I wear fleece or flannel lined jeans with long johns underneath when it is below freezing. When it is really frigid I wear long johns and quilted ski type pants. Don't forget the hand and toe warmers, LOL. Reminder to self, time to stock up! We had wet flurries yesterday, yuk!
