Is there a resident trainer a Goodness Ridge in Mt. Airy, MD if not who is close by?
I keep my horse in mount airy. He is a young TB gelding. No, I do not expect him to be a big dressage horse, unless he wants to be
But, I do want him to get correct basics so that he can go on to do Jumpers at whatever level...
I am looking for someone to take lessons with fairly regularly once/week to start and then bi-weekly. I would prefer a trainer that could come to my barn w/indoor - obviously the gas/mileage fee would be ok.
If they cant travel to me then, I could go to them, but again much easier if trainer could travel to me.
OAnother option I could take lessons on there school horse at their place and then occasionally trailer my horse in. I dont have my own rig, but have access to others, though I do not want to exhaust their kindness.
My point in all of that. is Goodness Ridge is not far from me, but I cant tell by the website if there is a trainer there.
If not, who would you recommend? I see that Felicitas Von Neuman is also close to me, but not sure if she works with younger horses or is opposed to TBs.

I no longer offer boarding or training at my barn, but work with a fabulous trainer, a USDF Silver Medalist, who keeps my FEI mare tuned up and has started a couple of young horses under saddle I've bred. She does travel in the local area to teach a number of students. There are a couple of nice boarding barns where she regularly teaches: By Chance Farm in Union Bridge (actually 5 minutes from me) and Pleasant Ridge in Walkersville (15 minutes from me).
If you look at my website and click on Allelujah's webpage, www.goodnessridge.com/allelujah.html you can see a few video clips of her riding a 3 year old I bred, whom she started under saddle earlier this year. If you happen to be at the Steffen Peters clinic at Chesapeake Dressage Institute this weekend, she will be riding my mare, Baronessa, with him and I'm sure she would be happy to chat with you.
Feel free to send me a PM if you have further questions.
P.S. Fred Weber, Todd Bryan and Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel are all excellent trainers and instructors! None of them travel for single lessons to my knowledge but all accept trailer-in lessons at their farms. Not knowing what barn you are located, but given your statement that you are near my farm, all three are within an easy 30-minute trailer drive from me. Unfortunately, JJ is now located 2 hours+ away.
I am leasing my farm to a Grand Prix jumper trainer and his mom, a pony breeder. The jumper trainer also gives lessons and may travel some so let me know if you want his information.
