Quinar Mare Wins 5yo World Championship at Zangersheide
She is from a Carthago mother.
I am very pleased to have used this stallion as much as I've been able to, as his production of sport horses, approved sons and mares who have produced stallions has so far exceeded that of any other Quidam son out of Holstein.
We eagerly await the full Quinar sibling to our yearling filly from our (Argentinus x Granulit x Carprilli x Alme x Gotthard) mare in the spring.
Kudos to Karen.
Limbus sired the 7yo champion and I believe that verband stallion freezes well and is available from Foxfire farm also.

Ne1: You seem to have quite a bit of knowlege about Quinar.. what is best to cross with him? Would you cross him with a TB mare? Or would you get something that is too difficult? Not sure what he passes on in the temprament department.
there has been a bunch written about him on here. the best mares for him are large, framey with good mouths and feet not too small. a quieter temperament is best as the young ones can be lively. a tb mare would need those traits as much as any other. he was lively as a youngster in belgium but settled into his work well and now is a puppy to work around and ride.
his sire, quidam, was part of the breeding experiment in holstein, along with baloubet, for pleasure etc. from what i have seen quinar has arguably exceeded even his father in his production from the holsteiner mare base (at considerably lower cost per breeding and with fresh semen!). the farmers there have been wanting him back. i have no interest in the horse other than as a breeder, but america has made some mistakes on top international stallions who failed to get breedings here who therefore went back to europe. i would suggest that if you're thinking of giving him a try to plan on doing it soon. again, i am thrilled by the filly i have from my argentinus mare from him, and am looking forward to the full sibling in the spring. you'll need a crowbar to get either of them away from me!
Very exciting. I added a nice imported Quinar jumper mare to my broodmare band this year and being a hunter person didn't realize what a treasure she was. She's in foal to Aloha but next year she be used with my For Pleasure son Federalist for a jumper baby.
