Default Spinoff from lost horse-sra dogs

Anyone in the Atlanta area know a search dog and resecue team that may be able to help look for Rico? Do they look for animals or only people?

Crazy idea but we are trying everything.

APD's dogs are trained to sniff out bombs, but doesn't Douglas Co. SO still have the tracking hounds?
Most of the sheriff's offices have bloodhounds, taught to track scents. And the deputies who handle the dogs sometimes have a private business on the side. I have a friend in Vidalia who is a deputy and who trains dogs for dope and tracking and attack, but he's in Vidalia and it would be costly to hire him to go up and search.
Try Douglas Co. SO. and see if they have tracking dogs or can direct you to someone who does.
Also, the kennel up in Alpharetta, the one that used to be Pat Klausman's Pekay, I forget the name of the guy who has it now, he's the same guy who has the boarding facility on NS Drive. Also call Briarcliff Hospital, the vets there might have clients who have tracking dogs.

Your problem is all the water, so you need something like the dogs used at Lake Lanier to find drowning victims, they can sniff the air above the water, so you might try some of the SO deputies up around Lake Lanier, like Forsyth Co. SO.

Wonder if any of these county rescue teams might be able to help: http://www.ibiblio.org/msar/units/index.html#Georgia

The SAR team I was affiliated with years ago would only respond if a responsible authority, such as a police or sheriff's department, called us out for a search. It was an insurance/liability issue.

What about renting a helicoptor? He is grey, right? So he might be easy to spot from the air and you would cover alot more ground. Best of luck.

Hmm if you go to Charlie Brown airport, you can rent a plane and a pilot to fly over the area.

But all the tv stations have choppers, so have you asked them if they have seen any grey horse south west of atlanta around villa riica? The reporters are all nice people and they will look for him if you ask, while they are reporting on the flooding. (My friend Carmen Burns once threw up on the previous governor while flying with him to an event, so don't stand under the choppers.)
