I am guessing his dam has already been approved.

I always present foals with their mothers when I can. I think they present better. I still can't get the video. Oh well, keep us up to date.

He did show with his dam. He is probably just listed by himself in the catalog because his dam is already approved. Oldenburg usually divides the horses into three classes - Mares without Foals first, then Mares w/Foals (where both need to be inspected), then Foals (where dam is already inspected).

SilverCreek is doing things a bit differently - Mares w/Colts, then Colts, then Mares w/Fillies, then Fillies, then Yearlings & Older.

I still have no audio so I couldn't hear results, but there were some nice colts in the group. They just did the premium ring for colts and there were a few premiums handed out. They are doing the fillies now.

Whew! Glad it is done, but it was a great inspection. The quality in the colt ring was tremendous. All 6 colts received Premium awards, there 3 stallion prospects, and 2 received Distinction awards. The quality was not as consistent in the filly ring but 4 of the 6 fillies received Premium awards. One mare received the Non-Oldenburg mare Distinction award.

We only had 3 hours and 23 horses to see, so I decided to do all the colts followed by the colt premium ring and then all the fillies followed by the filly premium ring. It was different than we usually do it, but trying to make the best of the time allowed.

It sounds like a great day! I was reading Liz's updates on Facebook but unfortunately missed this thread. That was a lot of horses!
