    Default Anyone shedding?

Is anyone's horse shedding out? My gray has all these short white hairs coming off all over. Especially all over me.

Yep, just today I noticed my guy's short little summer hairs shedding out all over. Maybe that means we will get some cooler temps down here in SC?

Yup - my guy is ejecting little black hairs everywhere. I noticed a couple weeks ago - right when I noticed that it was getting dark by the time I was leaving the barn. Boo - Fall is coming.

    Mine is the opposite !

It's coming into Spring here in Australia, and we're all shedding our winter coats !

Our lot are still really fuzzy. They're starting to get better though.

Will be nice and sleek for our November HT Since it's so hot they always waive jackets

The older horse is shedding his summer hair. Daughter had an Equestrian Team competitions last weekend, and one class was bareback English. She hopped down and had bright red fur-seat breeches!! Everyone laughed at how much sweaty hair he left on her after the class.

I made sure to stay upwind of him, hair was leaving him with just a breeze blowing! Enough to choke you.

He is always the first to react to shorter day length, with shedding a couple weeks before the others. He gets a big winter coat even though he doesn't live in Canada on the Great Plains anymore. Never believes that it won't be -40F come snow down here, like in his past life.

Rats, yes. I love summer coat when Cloudy is almost bald. Easier to clean up manure stains. He's been shedding his tiny few hairs for 2 weeks.

Farmers' Almanac says it will be a cold winter?

One time in the checkout line at a grocery store, the checkout lady and the bag boy had a dispute over whether all the white hairs on me were from my dogs or cats and I told them it was horsehair.

My old ones have been shedding for about three weeks--and this is in Mississippi. The younger ones really haven't started yet.

No, we're in the SW corner, about 100 miles south of the 45th parallel. So pretty close to halfway between the equator and the North Pole.

But my horses have begun shedding in early-mid August for as long as I've been paying attention, including when I lived in St. Louis.

Yep, white hair all over my clothes too. I don't see any point in fighting it anymore... does anyone have suggestions of colors to wear that don't show the white as much? Something that goes well with green slobber?
