    Default Merry Acres Farm Fun Show - $6,000 raised for breast cancer -- THANK YOU ALL!

    MERRY ACRES GOES PINK AGAIN! - FUN HORSE SHOW -

    “Are you tough enough to wear pink?”

    Glenelg, MD

    Saturday, September 12, 2009 - This show offers dressage (judged by 'R' judge Peggy Pariso) classes from Intro through Training level, stadium jumping scored on time and accuracy 18" - 3', and two cross country divisions - 18"-2' and 2' - 2'6".

    This show is a fundraiser for a charity that supports breast cancer survivors, and we had an excellent turnout last year -- you can see pics on the Merry Acres website, here: http://www.merryacresfarm.com.
    This show is a great schooling opportunity, particularly for young riders who are ready to try XC or those aiming for a fall entry at BBN / BN. While the fences are small, they are out in real terrain -- this is not just a mowed flat field with some logs and coops on it, it has hills, it passes through woods and water, and gives lower level XC riders a wonderful feeling of being on a real course. Newly constructed fences include a very nice BN-sized stone wall and others. Because the classes are separate, you can mix and match to suit your level of riding -- ready to do more than walk/trot dressage, but still only jumping 2'? That's fine, do a harder dressage test and a couple of stadium courses at the right level. And the price can't be beat! $20 for each dressage and stadium round, and $25 for XC. There will be an auction to raise funds for Marathon of Miracles, a 501(c)3 charity that supports breast cancer survivors.

    ===========================

    Update: Show was great, if a little damp, and we raised over $6,000 for the Marathon of Miracles, a breast cancer charity. Thank you all for your support, and we hope to see you next year!

    I've found that I don't tolerate people idiosyncrasies as well. - Casey09
