    Default Softening Venice Turpentine

What is the easiest way to soften venice turpentine? My farrier trimmed one of my geldings just a smidge shorter than usual, and he's pretty ouchy on his front feet. I thought a few days of vt might help him out a little, since I keep him barefoot. I didn't realize the stuff was so thick to spread!

Just put the closed can into a small container of hot water for a few minutes. I have never found it to be that hard to spread at all, but maybe you keep it in an air conditioned tack room or something? Leave it out in the sun for a ittle while, if you don't want to do the hot water thing...
