They didn't really touch on that though. It looks like someone just copied and pasted text from an MD Ag brochure or something. I wouldn't even call it an article. But that's what passes for journalism these days.

My vote is : slow news day, lazy / overworked content provider (not sure we could call that article journalism) and the thought that hey, at least an article about horses would give them the opportunity to put a nice picture of a horsey in the news paper. Sigh.
