    Default Silly Question?

If one lived near a racetrack and had a horse that didn't race but wanted to have the horse close to home could they board at the track?

Not unless someone wants to use it as a pony.

Tracks need to have full fields and need every stall to be filled with horses that are going to run at the meet. Tracks will, in fact even tell race trainers that if their horses don't run more often they will lose stalls.

I have a pony and use him in the mornings and afternoons and on ocassion run into the problem that they don't even have a stall for him - and how do you think the horses will get to the post in the afternoon!
To get in the winners' circle you must first get into the gate
