Hi, I want to sell my gelding. Had a buyer. We did some x-rays and found arthritis in one hind pastern. The vet thinks my gelding will have several good years yet, but the buyer walked away, even though we lowered the price to half of what it was. What's the significance? The horse would be used for lower level dressage.
When I think of arthritis in pastern I think of ringbone which can be very manageable in some cases but hard to keep the horse sound in others. My horse just got his pastern joint fused to chronic arthritis in his pastern joint he remained lame after steroid HA, and IRAP injections.
