    Default First event this September

I did it. I have officially signed up and entered my first event. Well, its a cross country challenge. You run your course twice and the best combined times wins the division.

I'll be doing the Pre BN with my girl, only 2' max. I'm bringing a friend along to ride and she'll be doing either N or T, she isn't sure yet.

    So here's my check list:

    Safety Vest - check
    Medical Armband - check
    Helmet - check
    Proper riding attire - check
    Tack - check

My only question is about my bit. I have a Pessoa two ring gag. Can you use a chain? I used this bit for barrel racing and always used a curb chain. I'll probably end up riding her in a snaffle, but I want to cover my bases in case she gets strong.

I'm still having issues from my previous instructor, I stand and tend to jump a bit ahead. My release is getting better, I'm used to keeping contact on the reins, but my old instructor had me keep contact while doing a crest release.

This is us over 2'6", it's a movie still so it isn't the best moment in the jump.

I have another photo where I'm getting left due to the saddle, nasty AP saddles. Same fence, same height.

In the second picture I dropped back in the saddle and we took down the back rail. I can't get the stirrups any shorter on that saddle without my knees popping out because of the knee rolls.
