What do you think of "french blue" coats?
I am thinking about getting this coat eventually. What do you think of the color? Too bold/loud?

If you have pictures of a french blue coat, please do post them!

I love them! I am actually a fan of the bolder coloured jackets and bright linings!

I love them too! Maybe not always for hunters depending on the class but definitely in jumpers!

Not my definition of "french blue", but I like it and I would wear it. Not sure how the trainer would feel about it.

That's quite a muted french blue actually... my friend had a "true" French blue and it is BEAUTIFUL. I've been lusting after her coat ever since. (She had it custom made)
I don't think it's too loud or crazy. It's not like you're wearing a JustWorld coat in there. Especially with a gray or black, this coat would look phenomenal.
Hope you get it!

Have one, love it. Except mine has a HOT PINK lining and a subtle pink plaid. You can always spot me!

The coat pictured is about five shades darker than the French blue RJ Classics I used to have, which I loved to bits and wore everywhere. I think the color of the coat you linked to is probably appropriate than that of my old coat. It's beautiful!
Here's the one that I had: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2.../RedRibbon.jpg

I have that exact coat, except with a lilac lining. It was approved by my fairly traditional, conservative trainer. I even wore it & pinned in some eq classes at an A show earlier this summer. It looks fabulous with a white or light lavendar shirt. I actually got compliments on it from another trainer that I didn't know. Go for it!

I've been coveting one for a while now. It's a nice alternative to the dark navy blue that everybody is wearing right now, and a great way to subtly stand out. A black coat just wouldn't look great on my horse (she's like TheOrangeOne's horse but a little darker). Plus, it looks really retro! Like rust breeches, but more attractive.

I have one I'm very fond of and has looked good on my last two horses.

Next thing on my list is trying rust breeches with the french blue coat and white shirt... we'll see. May not be the best combination, but heck that's what tackstores and fitting rooms are for.

I have an elite coat that I wouldn't call french blue, but that is definitely lighter than the standard navy.
Some pics are here:

If I remember correctly someone else posted some pics of themselves in that exact coat and it was actually much lighter in person than on the website, like the second photo that pony + an inch posted. If this is your second coat I would say go for it but as a main coat you may want to get something darker. I've been coveting that coat for awhile now

I had a Grand Prix made for me that is a stunning french blue, with white piping around the collar and a beautiful rose colored lining. It looked amazing on a jet black horse i used to catch ride.

My daughter has a French blue jacket with a caramel coloured lining and piping on the collar. It made it easy to find her in the warm up ring when most other jackets were navy or dark grey! (didn't hurt in the hack either )
