Cool Displaying Show Ribbon Ideas... Please...

After amassing a number of nice ribbons at our shows so far this year, I need ideas on how to display them! I'd love to hang them up in my room, does anyone have any ideas on how to hang them up without having to buy one of those pricey ribbon racks? Pictures? Thanks!

Take it from the Ribbon 'Ho! Go to Walmart and buy a single-rod type curtain rod (the kind that can extend out a length). Very simple to hang. Doesn't matter what it looks like because the ribbons will cover them up.

Please take a photo when you are done. I love looking at lots of lovely ribbons!!!

I made a ribbon wreath by attaching a bunch of my ribbons to one of those grapevine wreaths you can buy at craft stores. Over most of the wreath, only the rosette part of the ribbons shows (you can either cut the streamers off or roll them up behind the rosette and clip them). I left three of my favorite ribbons unrolled at the bottom. I was skeptical when I decided to try it, but it actually looks pretty cool. Good for over a bed or a mantel, that kind of thing.

I have bedroom closet doors circa 1976, metal louver type doors, and they are great for hanging ribbons on. And since my office is a former bedroom - voila - instant ribbon display.

One other thing I used to do was get some nice cord in the craft department, and some thin wooden dowels, and fashioned something similar to the blanket racks with chains, and hung the ribbons from that.

The curtain rod thing seems like a great idea also.

Get some of that lattuce stuff from home center. Paint it something different than the wall. Hang ribbons all over it.

We just bought spools of ribbon about 1/2 inch wide and used upholstery tacks to tack up long strings of it. Then slide ribbons on and voila! Ribbon wall in 15 minutes or less!

This is spring of last year...they wrap around her whole room now. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing

We have a separate row for tricolors..we've added a second row for those and it looks just fine.

I have a less than attactive lamp that has some kind of cool places to put photos, so I spruced it up a little by hanging ribbons off of the lampshade.

I also had some neck ribbons that were hanging on the edges of some of the chairs... this one is only really used as a cat seat- http://www.leakycreek.com/modules.ph...view_photo.php

but you do have to be careful with that-- http://www.leakycreek.com/modules.ph...view_photo.php Good thing I love him

I also have a good number of ribbons that hang from curtain rods downstairs http://www.leakycreek.com/modules.ph...view_photo.php I get a lot of compliments from horse people & non horse people alike & then it opens up conversation about the horses

Thanks everyone such good ideas! Much more economical than the ribbon racks! I am so proud of what my horse and I have accomplished so far this year, which is our first year showing together, that I want to display them proudly!

Do you get Show Biz magazine by any chance? In the latest issue there was an ad for a woman who does customized displays of ribbons using glass cannisters. They are beautiful. (I guess I should mention she's one of my best friends, but that's not the point! Even if she wasn't a friend I'd think they were beautiful.) If you want more info you can PM me.

My husband makes ribbon racks for the local 4-H kids - they are made out of oak with brass hanging chains and look really sharp! I have a couple for DD's and my ribbons, too. They take him a lot of time to make, though, because he bevels the edges and stains them and stuff...He likes to do stuff like that, though.
