As a light harness horse instructor and trainer of driving horses I all too frequently have had the job of recovering ponies and horses that have been in an accident because of poor practice or poor and inadequate equipment. All too often either harness or vehicle is positively dangerous and an accident waiting to happen.
I also refuse to use anything but my own harness and vehicles when first training horses.
I've had folks come to stay here with their own turnouts and who want lessons and whose vehicles I've refused to get in to. They've often been driving oblivious of the risks.
