Water is covalent, not ionic. OK, it does fall apart into ions, but only to a tiny tiny extent. As in, one molecule per 100,000,000,000,000 molecules of water falls apart into H+ and HO-. Essentially any ions would come from outside sources.
Electrolysis of water is real but it relies on those extraneous ions to carry the charge through the liquid. No ions, no transport of charge.
I can ionize water in my kitchen. Glass of water. Salt shaker with salt. Add salt to water. Voila!

Cool! So water is, like, a homeopathic remedy in this regard?

Oh, sooo...since I posted about the old-timers making their own ionic water with the handful of salt in a bucket of water, I was/am way ahead of the game??
Yeah, did you notice how the posts went from July 31 to Dec. 10 (or whatever date it was?) and the first Dec. post was one post only?
Well, people pay for bottled water from Santa Fe Springs, CA...which is almost dead center of Los Angeles basin...using municipal water. Just read the label! So, I'm thinking of bottling 'Old Timers' Ion Water' for cuts and boo-boos.

OK, I have a Milli-Pure water purification system in my lab (de-ionizer and microfiltration) so I can start processing. I already have a bunch of carboys ready.
I will de-ionize and then re-ionize the water. What ions do we want? I can run everything from Na+ out to U+3, +4, +5, and +6. Anything higher and we run into vaporization issues.

Can I get some Antimony in mine? It has always been one of my favorite element names. Metalloid, isn't it? Along with Silicon, Arsenic, Tellurium, Polonium, and Boron? I sucked at Chemistry, pretty much, but the periodic table is pretty cool and I have odd chunks of it permanently imprinted on my cerebral hard drive for some reason . . .

I think we should add gold to it. We could beat out the market for all the silver products. And charge more.
We also need some kind of ointment that can be used not only to disinfect the wound, but also to keep dirt and flies away. The well-stocked barn will, of course, have a supply of the spray, brush disinfectant, and ointment.

OOOH! We can Call it "Drs Grataan, Ayers, Deltawave, and Peggy's Super Duper Woo Woo ointment/cream/spray/disinfectant!"
Michael: Seems the people who burned me want me for a job.
Sam: A job? Does it pay?
Michael: Nah, it's more of a "we'll kill you if you don't do it" type of thing.
Sam: Oh. I've never liked those.

*sniff* well that might help.
I'm sorry I got my panties in a wad. I've been a little off-kilter ever since the vampire bat bit me while I was hiding in the caves.
Can you forgive me?

Antimony, can do. We have bunches laying around (really). I was going to add Hafnium (almost as expensive as platinum) and maybe Tantalum for mine. Instead of sliver we can go with copper as it also has antibiotic properties and is better than gold in that respect.
As for the patent, has an invention disclosure or provisional patent been issued? We need that.
I was also thinking adding some calcium carbonate or the like (limestone) so we can then say each treatment has a full day's supply of calcium for healthy bones.

I recall an America's Horse issue, I think, with a reiner who'd destroyed his hoof wall/quarter in an overreach injury. Part of his healing protocol was to manage the wound with Tide powdered clothes detergent.
Does anyone else recall this, or see a link somewhere to it's use?
A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking. (Steven Wright)

Mmmm. It was a form document I picked up at Office Max for $99. Do you think that's bad? I thought you could DIY everything these days? It was created by a patent attorney after all...
BTW, whatever you add, please make sure it is sparkly.

Ha Ha!!! A thread I can get into as a HS Chem teacher! I was also going to point out that water is covalent, and that it's quite simple to ionize, but was beaten to the punch by several other Chem knowledgable CoTHers!
I also think that the poster who was talking about a water ioizer was most likely actually talking about a deionizer. I can understand having a deionizer (I have one too) but why someone would buy an ionizer beats me. Throwing some salt in water seems easy enough. However, I was then left wondering how someone who actually owned a deionizer could get it confused with an ionizer????? Hmmmmm, I don't think I want anything that comes out of that lab....

Dang, my brain has just informed me that I had forgotten Germanium.
If my brain were a horse, it would, I think, be a chestnut TB mare.

Didn't they do this on an episode of NCIS?
ETA: If my brain were a horse, it would be an old lazy mini with brief flashes of youthful pre-baby exuberance. Probably a paint.
