Penny Oaks anyone?
What with the extension to the closing date (open 'til the 21st), we're now planning to go for my youngster's 3rd BN. Who knows, the weather might even be nice seeing as how it's supposed to be in the mid 70s this weekend. I looked at the entry status and they only had like 75 entries Anyone on here going? I'll be there with my trainer who is also a late entry.

I will be there doing my baby's third beginner novice. My trainer has 4-5 horses going I believe. I have done IEA quite a few times, but this is my first time doing Penny Oaks and I look forward to it! Hopefully they get more entries with extending the close date.

I'm thinking about going. We haven't done anything this year and I'm just itching to get out. I would love to meet fellow COTHERs too!
Do they historically have a friendly novice course?

Yes, they do have a nice Novice course. It's usually close to what they use for Leg Up. But Cathy Wieschhoff is designing it this year. I have two students running there first novice at Penny Oaks.

Tommy Girl,
Will you be going BN or Novice? You have a lovely horse! Good luck and stay safe.

IMO, the Novice course is traditionally very friendly...it does twist and turn through the woods a fair amount, though (as do all the levels) so be prepared to walk your course more than once! also, my horse tends to get a little backed off by all the paths through the woods, which may be good or bad depending on your situation!

Yes, there is a brand new shower house in the park campground, and iirc, there is some sort of shower in the stabling area too.
Best of luck, cuoxc.

There are showers in the building that has the "restaurant", and showers in the Baker Arena.
