    Default Jazz frozen semen...

    Has anyone used this semen?

I am thinking of trying a mare with Jazz and he is only available frozen at the moment to me, but no stats are available.

    Thank you in advance.

There is another thread on Jazz/Vivaldi lumped together.....but the end result is that he has a high conception rate from his frozen.

How about the quality of the frozen?

If the mares are getting in foal (they are) that pretty much tells you it is getting the job done.

For numbers I believe the post thaw motility was something like 40 something% for someone I know that has used it frequently......but that really does not mean much as some stallions seem to thaw OK for motility yet never get a mare in foal......so motility is only part of it.

Oh god... I am taking absolutely no notice of motility after recent events, it in conception rates which are what I would like to know.

    Thank you :-)

    Decision made!

Just bred my Stedinger mare to him last week. My repo vet told me his post thaw was 60% and looked really good. Keeping my fingers crossed that she gets in foal as I don't plan on rebreeding this late in the season. Checking on 7/18.

    Thank you...

I am ordering the semen this morning so hopefully it will be with us by tomorrow afternoon at the latest!

My first plan did not quite go as intended, so perhaps it was just meant to be. This stallion has always been a great favourite of mine and I always intended on using it on my own dressage mare, however, I have the opportunity to use a mare of outstanding breeding this year so I am taking the plunge.

Good luck, I hope it works out. That should be quite an impressive foal. May be a bit of a firecracker , but could make an outstanding dressage prospect for a good rider.

Well, it has been ordered and should be with me tomorrow morning.

I have a Weltmeyer x Eisenherz mare who I will be inseminating either Saturday evening or Sunday morning!
