Default photos of someone wearing Tipperary helmet?

Before possibly buying a Tipperary helmet as a summer please-don't-let-me-fall-off-due-to-heat-stroke schooling helmet, I'd like to see a photo of someone wearing one. You know, so I can judge exactly how goofy it might look on me.

Would anyone be willing to point me towards a photo? Either personal or on an online tackstore. Thanks!

I use that helmet for summer time and loff it. Great ventilation and it's comfy, with lots of padding around the forehead.

Well - I must say that I think they look absolutely ridiculous. Like, really odd. Maybe its just my head? Either way, I love it anyway. It completely covers the back of my head, weighs approximately nothing, is well-ventilated, and is relatively inexpensive if I fall and hit my noggin. But I refuse to wear it to lessons. That said:

I have one as well, and it is indeed VERY light and airy. I often forget I have it on, and I'm not one to wear a helmet religiously (I know, bad me!).

(And pardon the lack of english tack - I don't have a saddle that fits him, so it's western for us for now.)

I used to ride in an ATH, which was unbearable in summer.

I am in South Florida and find that the Tipp is a MUST. Everyone at my barn rides with these helmets - they are the only way to make it through the summer!!

Hmmm...still think they're a bit goofy looking. The photo of Tim Goguen helped a bit, but if I rode like him I'd happily wear a salad bowl on my head.

But if the Tipp is that much cooler...

My winter helmet (which I would wear if I were ever to show) is an ATH and though it is supposed to have vents, I can't feel it at all.

So I was looking at some Mythbusters videos today and stumbled on some video of Kari, Tory and Grant learning how to ride and noticed they were wearing Tipperary helmets: http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/myth...thbusters.html

I don't think the goofiness is coming from the helmet

Actually, I also have one (sportage plus) and it fits my head really well and is super comfy, even in the heat.

Didn't Hap Hansen wear a Tipperary helmet once?
Maybe I'm confusing it with someone else.
If I bought one, I'd spray paint it with a matte finish so it would look less ridiculous.

I have a CO JR8 and honestly, it is no hotter than my old Dublin Schooling helmet! Honest! It is so comfortable I forget it is on sometimes.

That is the ugliest thing I've seen in my life.
Thank god it is never too hot for a normal helmet here

Two girls at our barn wear them and they look pretty flattering on them, actually...it's what you're used to. Several of the riders that wear GPAs look terrible in them! When I look at bike, motorcycle, and riding helmets every day the slight space-agey-ness of the tipperary doesn't stick out so much by comparison.

Amanda, funny you should ask about those helmets, Kait and I were chuckling about Kenny wearing one today! If its comfy and cool for the summer, wear it!
    Are you riding this summer???????

I have one of the original Tipps and love(d) it, until I got my GPA that is. The small Tipp is still a bit big for me, but I'm in between a 55/56 for GPAs. The helmet is very lightweight and does stay cool. I felt that it cradled my head well and the harness was comfortably positioned for me. I did try on the Sportage but didn't particularly like that, although the new Tipp supposedly went back towards the original design based on customer feedback.
