Default Found another Baby I'm interested in- thoughts?

OK- Its friday afternoon...its been a particularly stressful week at work, so I went cruizing websites again- looking for my next project horse. I found another one (last one got sold as I was driving out to see her- too late!).

Since I know you all are winding down your days at work- take a look!

What do you think of this big guy? I can't seem to steer away from the OTTB's, for some reason I am drawn to them....but that is what I grew up on. This guy is 5- I think he may make a great jumper prospect, so I'm going to go meet him tomorrow. Thoughts?

Although I can't tell too much from the video, he looks nice. Doesn't seem whacked or anything. Very handsome!

Any thoughts on his bloodlines? I have been fascinated by some of the older posts on good lines for a hunter/jumper- he seems to be an eventers dream with so much Caro in there...

I don't buy on pedigree- but its fun to check it all out while I am trying to finish my day up in the office! I will get to meet him tomorrow

Do you know why he's unraced at 5? That could be (and usually is) an indication of soundness, especially at 5.

Of course, just because a horse can't run doesn't mean he can't jump

... that sounds less believable than it should

I rode an unraced OTTB that made a great little eventer.

    Question hocks?

nice looking fellow! do have his hocks checked; he is quite "open behind, and appears to have little articulation in his hocks

I do know why he was unraced, I talked to his trainer- he had an undescended testicle- they did not want to cut him because they thought his breeding was so good (that's why I was hoping someone could comment on his pedigree ). They tried to run him, but it ended up bothering him too much- so they knew they couldn't get top dollar for a stud fee without a good record. They cut him at 4, then he trained- but running as a maiden at 5 and investing more money for training didn't seem like a good idea to them because he still was not fast enough for their circuit...and they think he wants to be off the track. So that's his story... Or at least a version of it...

Very, very handsome fellow. Although, I agree with Carol Ames: I would check those hocks...they seem to move rather weird in the video...

I thought it looked a little higher up. Maybe hocks or hips.
