Default Denny, do you knit socks?

My other obsession is knitting, and I knit quite a lot of socks. I've been following the creation of the Sock Summit, a major sock-knitting jam session that I will regrettably not be able to attend. Yesterday, when registration for the Summit opened, the server crashed--all classes sold out in less than an hour--and in the comments on the organizers' blogs are several lucid and reassuring remarks from "Denny."

    Am I outing you?
    Circs or DPNs? Magic Loop?
    Hand-paints?
    Wool or cotton? Or--heaven forbid--cashmere?

    C'mon, Denny. Fess up.

I always pictured Denny as a traditionalist knitter. Nothing too fancy, no gimmicks, no following fads: plain undyed wool with wooden needles he carved himself. Good sturdy socks, hats, and mittens, maybe a scarf or two and a sweater for those chilly autumn mornings in New England.

    Jimmy Wofford's socks knit themselves.

Jimmy knits my socks for me, and in exchange, I defend him against smears and slander on this board.

It`s the least I can do for the poor old guy. When I visit him at the home, he doesn`t recognize me, and the only one he responds to at all is his 19 year old nurse.

Which establishes, with absolute clarity, that he is indeed NOT blind.
