Default An Interesting Visitor...funny and insane all at the same time!

The other day my friend and I were getting ready for a horse show. My friend was braiding my horse down with thread and then I was going to bump the braids. While this was happening a woman came into the barn and said "cool, you're putting in hair extensions.

She then asked for the BO and told us that she had just bought her first horse a year ago and that she had always wanted to run a farm and was going to be taking over our boarding barn.

Meanwhile she walked over to a flea bitten grey in the barn and asked us if it was a leopard spot because she "had seen it in a magazine." We were freaking at this point.

She told us she has read in books all about how to run a barn and is going to make "improvements."

The thing that really got us was that she seemed either slow, or on drugs. Not sure but her speach pattern was a bit odd.

It was all a very strange experience.

Now would be a good time to move. Beat the rush, while other local farms still have vacancies.

Nope, not punk'd. It's the real deal. We are aware that the BO will be moving in the fall. This lady's a nut though.

*She's got electric boots, a mohair suit, you know I read it in a magazine, yeah!*

Sorry, it just seems to go with this surreal experience. Run away!!

That was very considerate of the nut case to warn you what's going to happen to the care at the barn--now go barn shopping before all the other boarders get the spaces at the nice barns and you come back here with a thread about getting your horse away from this nut.

Be grateful for the warning and start looking for another barn. Quick - before it's too late!

That's the funniest first response I may have ever read. And an excellent idea. How's the packing going, girls?

"She's got electric boobs, her Mom does too, you know I read it in a magazine, ohhh"

You guys are hilarious! I actually really like the barn I'm at and don't want to move. It's kind of a crappy situation but you all are right, she did give me warning!

I think I'll just assert myself as the screener of potential barn managers. I'm sure the current BO could use a hand sorting through the pile!

I had a similar odd experience with the person telling me how much she loved my horse that she was going to ride him and etc.... Later I learned that the person was learning impaired and / or developmentally challenged adult.

yankeeclipper, that's the first thing that came to my mind when reading this. Only someone seriously disturbed or mentally impaired can be that serious while being that stupid.

I agree, get thee to another barn pronto. You may like where you are now, but you won't if someone like this gets the BM position.

Tha lack of knowledge + the comment of "making improvements" would worry me on their own, let alone put together. Put the hair extensions down and pack that trailer and load them hosses

Before you make a run for it you might want to ask the BO if it's true that that woman is taking over... if he/she says it's true - run.

I just hope for your sake you've got some barn staff who are first class witches and will put her in her place about her idiosy. If not, I know someone who would

Man, good luck! I can't believe your BO would even sell to someone like that!!!
