Default Milk is white, mare in labor... He's HERE - PICS!

I'm watching my maiden Hano who I kept inside today so I can watch her on the camera... She's definately in pre labor and looks to be about 7 min apart, down from 12 when I started documenting... Boy is she getting fiesty in there!

Wish I had her on mare stare for you all to see!

I suspect her water's going to break anytime now and I have my bucket of stuff ready to go, keys in the truck (just in case) and all of my friends on stand by as I'm all alone with my 4 year old daughter today... Ugh.

She's excited too and ready when Mommy's ready (we even had a couple of drills this morning.

    Let's hope it's a success!!!

Lucky, lucky you .... hope all goes well! How awesome for your daughter. We had to wake ours up ( a little older tho) and get them out there at 3 a.m. in their pajamas. Wonderful family memories.

Get those little girl meets newborn photos and share.

I hope she waits until the other two get home from school!!! Not likely by the looks of it though, my eyes are glued to my TV!

Yeah, I FINALLY get to catch one! My other mare was terribly ellusive and always went while I dozed (or hubby on his watch).

Looks like she's 5 minutes now...

    Just added camera to bucket

OK... back to 7 min, false alarm, lol. Maybe she WILL hold off until the other two are home... That would be wonderful!

I just wish she'd stop violently rubbing (almost slamming) her booty! Heaven help us if she does it once the feet are out! Then again, as soon as I see the water break I'm running out there!

Here's a picture of my mare taken a month and a half ago... Yes, she hid the foal well. She tripled in size during the last 3 weeks!

We were watching my friend's mare all night last year and she keeping rubbing/slamming her tail... rearing up and stomping down... it was so weird. We kept telling her she couldn't just shake out the baby, lol. She settled down that morning thankfully. I'll be curious to see if she acts similarly this year!

Ugh... Thunderstorm stopped her around 4:00 PM. She's still in labor just not going to go as quickly as I hoped...

So, I took advantage of the time (after the storm passed) and turned her out for a little while, watched her stretch her legs and really tell me what she thinks about all of this, lol... And of course we had some lovey-dovey time... So, it looks like I'm up tonight.

And yes, my mare was rearing a little as well! Silly girls aren't they?

Mine has been acting silly all week so it'll be nice to finally get this show on the road!

NOOOO Don't go talking about the red bag - Eek! I went a clinic last year about problem foalings, I just watched the DVD last night...

A friend of mine had one a few years back and thankfully the two survived, though she's been breeding for 20+ years 5-6 mares a year, where as this is only my 5th foal.

Thanks all! I'll let you know... Just wish Hubby were here (nice time for a business trip eh?)

    Ain't it the truth!

He'll be back LATE Friday night... I don't think she'll wait, lol.

Though ya just never know w/ those fair Maidens!

Boy, I don't think I was ever so sure of a foaling in my life. How long can she have white milk before foaling (and I mean the final looking stuff)?

This just goes to show that maidens have their own set of rules I suppose... I am certainly going to buy a kit in the future.

Took a nap, having coffee, lol... She's starting again, we'll see!

She actually crouched down, lifted one rear leg and sat on her water bucket. Glad I use heavy duty snaps as I assume she has the wrong idea of what that "water" bucket is used for!

Here are a couple of pics I took at feeding time. Please excuse the tail wrap - I have since changed it but it's essentially the same...

Ah, finally... Some action again! She's a HOOT right now, you guys would enjoy watching (if anyone was up at this hour)...

She's a Hunter bred mare but she's performing some really neat Dressage right now!

Ah, sitting on her water bucket again...

    I'M SO TIRED!

    Default We have a Colt!

At 5 AM (on the dot) Gott's Geschenke had a Chestnut colt w/ a blaze and 3 white socks, by Graf Top II!

Shoulder got a little hung up, repositioned the mare and he came right out!

Mare and foal are doing great!

Here are some pictures, I am taking a much needed NAP as he passed his poo-poo!

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy foaling season this year!
