    Default Show name help needed!!!!

I am FINALLY going to enter my mare in her first show BUT she needs a show name... badly. Her registered name is Winning Blush.

    here is her pedigree www.pedigreequery.com/winning+blush

I have been thinking about just showing her under her barn name, Puma. But before I do that I want to see if anyone can come up with something that fits her!

She is a dark bay (think black), 16h, 7 yr old, OTTB. She has a TINY star and a very short sock on her right hind that has a few spots (i forget what they are called).

I will try and get pics ASAP!!!!

Cat Cora - since her sire is Iron Cat and Cat Cora is an Iron Chef.

I also like Anaconda - but probably won't work because I thought it was an iron mine, but turned out to be copper.

Family friends had a QH named Iron Petticoat who was a stakes winning producing broodmare. She was a class act

OK, maybe I'm odd, but I like Winning Blush and always like showing the TBs under their JC names. How about Ria Tinto (it is an iron mine and Tinto is red, so like blush), or Carajas (which is also an iron mine) http://minerals.caltech.edu/brazil/Carajas/carajas.htm
OTTBs rule, but spots are good too!

Ditto this. I know it's a minority opinion, but unless a horse's registered name is truly, truly awful (for values of "truly awful" more rigorous than "it makes him sound like the QH that he is"), I like to see him keep it.

Winning Blush is a fine name, and if she raced under it--and did well for herself, looks like!--it has a fine history. I'd stick with that.

Ditto. I like Winning Blush. Truly awful is something like "Leslie's Man" which was my ottb as a teenager! As someone who loves to check up on pedigrees I really appreciate it when folks keep the JC name.

Default show her under her real name

That way, when she is a star, folks can refer to her breeding on COTH!

    Default Agree with JC name

I think Winning Blush is cute.

I also agree with showing under the JC name, but am struggling with my OTTB who was registered as "Dummy."

i normally am set against using made up show names unless they are unregistered or are using barn names. Befor Puma though Ive always had horses with good registered names! lol

I think I might just show her under winning blush...

My TB that I got last fall had an absolutely awful JC name. It wasn't until after I had him a few weeks and then received his papers that I realized he had been renamed to that awful name. I'm now going to show him under his original JC name. I really wish his previous owner hadn't changed his name with the JC.
