Default Pony Foal Announcements--post pics here!

Here's the spot to share your pony foal announcements and pictures!

So we don't have a load of stickies at the top of the page, instead of sticking this one too, we're going to add a link to this thread from the opening post of the stickied foal announcement thread, so this is easy to find.

    Enjoy!

Yeah! Thanks mods for this thread! You might want to move Sugarbrook's thread here, though as hers is a pony foal too. We just had our first born March 18, a filly by Land's End Rondo (Carolinas Red Fox X Llanarth Rhapsody) out of Quicksilver Butterfly (Mortons Best Man X Benlea Minuet). She is a chestnut with (we think) 4 whites and a big blaze and should mature a top of the line small. She is the first foal for both sire and dam so we were anxiously awaiting her arrival. She is as sweet as they come. She is tentatively named Ladybug. Here she is just a bit rumpled looking still.

We just have one little guy so far. He's 2 1/2 weeks old, and absolutely adorable! I haven't downloaded my most recent pictures from the camera, but here are a few of him at a week old, and here's his video taken on Monday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekTQjzSMEI0

He is a Section B Welsh, sired by *Wedderlie Mardi Gras and out of *Holyoake Sonique.

    Smile Our pony foal

Mom is a registered pinto pony (Welsh/Paint cross), 12.2 hands. Dad is an Arab 15.2 hands with impeccable performance. Mom was my daughter's pony. Dad is my trainer's stallion. Mom is a hunter pony - a treasured packer who takes care of the children in her charge. Dad is shown successfully locally in Western Pleasure and Hunt Seat by amatuers. He has a disposition to die for. The filly was born on March 26. She looks like Mom. We call her Sierra. I hope this link works. This little filly can really move. We are delighted! Hope the link works.

Our Benlea Laureate (Welsh, Chest. Sabino) had a wonderful colt by Meadowbrooks Special Edition (Welsh/TB, Dark Bay). He is "cheeky" fellow who is driving his mother crazy! I have include a couple pictures, he has some sawdust in his eye in one shot, and the little beast rarely stood still for more than a nanosecond. I would love to say his movement is spectacular, but at this point he looks like a bouncing PePe La Pew...bong, bong, bong. I sure would like some opinions on his coloring and any names ideas you might have.

What a cutie!!! And I like his mom, too.

Looks to me like he's going to be black. Cool!!

My little guy will be three weeks old on Tuesday, and this morning I saw him trot for the first time for about 6 strides -- it was awesome, but he has been entirely cantering or galloping and NEVER trotting before this morning. It was short lived, and he was back to doing his reining pattern circles around his mother immediately after!! It's so hard to tell when they are so energetic. Mine could have been named Tigger.

Thanks Gretchen, the mare is full sister to Pony Dotcom, she is a SAINT. I believe Pony Dotcom is black, and I know of another full sibling that is also black. So we are hopeful he will stay dark. I do love watching the little ones bounce and try out their new legs. They are so cocky and full of spit and vinegar. I only breed one or two a year, so I can't imagine how much fun life must be at your farm!

Congrats Kelly! I think he looks black too. What a cutie - I want to see more photos as he grows up. My full sister to your mare is a great mom too - it must run in the family - are you going to rebreed her this year?

Sugarbrook and any others who originally posted their announcements in the other thread are welcome to repost here. When we move posts from one thread to another, they maintain their chronological order, so the OP would change in this thread and might be a little confusing.

    Thanks and congrats to all!
