Brit Le'Brand Farm/Britney Sturtz/BLB Equine Rescue
There was another long thread on this subject, and I just wanted to re-adress this. http://www.chronicleforums.com/Forum....php?p=3414554
Has anyone that had issues with B sought legal counsel? If so, what is the current situation? There have been a couple complaints listed on the AG website.
If all the people who "adopted" horses from B would file a report with the IRS http://www.irs.gov/compliance/articl...180171,00.html, reflecting the amount the "adoption" fee was (which in most cases seems to be equal or higher than a normal purchase price for a horse), she may be in quite a pickle with the IRS! Since the previous thread states that she has placed so many horses, and I'm assuming there was quite a bit of $$$ exchanged for this, I'm betting she did not claim this $$$, nor does she have a 501c??? (I think that's the form).
I also know there may be other people out there that have had/are having bad dealings with her, but are afraid to publicly list them, possibly due to impending legal dealings, etc...! If this is the case, maybe you can offer to allow anyone that would like to join forces, a way to contact you-without posting on this forum (since it seems B reads these).

FYI
No one has filed anything under the "Belle Greye Haven Stables" alias that I can find. If someone has a legit business/rescue/therapeutic riding center, wouldn't you advertise as such and not continue to change your name? Coshocton county is not that big... Did she really not think that anyone would check into it after all this?? She has claimed to have placed over 2300 horses in homes. If she is getting money from them on adoptions/leases/sales, why does she even bother going to college? She has to be raking in the money, all tax free I'm sure. Just keeping paperwork straight would be a full time job in itself, especially with all her requirements on her contracts.

Yup, hard to keep up isn't it?? Also, found some of her ads on equinenow.com. She is posting a Coshocton location, not Wooster this time. It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has had recent dealings with her. She said there were many satisfied customers who have stood behind her, but why haven't they posted? Only takes a couple of minutes and it would certainly do her reputation some good, don't you think?

I'm not convinced there are very many satisfied customers of hers...my bet is there are many more UNSATISFIED customers! It is really sad that more people cannot be warned about her...! It seems that up until late last year, there were not any major complaints against her...then all the **** hit the fan for her

almost a year and a half ago i sent my horse to her to be a therapuetic horse because he had wobblers and could no longer be jumped. i wanted to find him a good place to go because he was a fantastic horse and loved having a job. i wanted to go visit him soon and found out that none of the information we had for her was current and i went on the internet to find something and stumble upon this and some other very unpleasant things about her. now im just trying to figure out how i can find my horse and wanted to know if any of you guys that had gotten horses from her might have come in contact with him. he is a liver chestnut appendix quarter horse around 15.2 hands he has 3 socks and a blaze shaped similarly to a question mark with a pink nose except for one small dot. his name is prince and he is about 10 or 11 years old now. if you know of anything on him please help!

I just purchased a horse and a pony from her for my 12 year old daughter! When I went to pick up the horse, he fell down in the trailer and went under the divider in my trailer going down the highway. He wasn't anything like what Britney told me he was!!! She assured me that he was "child safe" and now my daughter has no horse. The pony has been lame since the day I brought him home. Someone needs to call me about this....330571-5007. I would like to hear more about all of this.

I do not know what you paid for these horses but one thing I have learned is that it is best to cut your losses NOW. Take them back and tie them to her doorstep if you have to but get them gone from your care! They will continue to eat and cost vet bills and, if you file suit, you will also have all those expenses adding up rapidly. Courts NEVER act quickly. I know that you feel that you have money invloved that you want back. I understand how you feel about being taken. I also understand how quickly you can become attached to a horse. But if you keep those horses you are just going to loose that much more money---money that you could be saving toward a horse that your daughter could really use! (And, I guarentee that you and she will become just as quickly attached to a horse that can safely be ridden!)
Also, I would NOT call ahead and tell Brittney that you are coming---just show up and get them off the trailer before she can stop you.

dreamhorse ads
OK... I honestly think she's drunk when she writes her ads. If not, I would be embarrassed to admit I actually go to college. She can't spell worth a darn and her sentences are incomplete/fragments. I would be PO'd if I were her parents to think I was actually paying for that education. Or... just maybe... she is employed by ATI/Wooster just to clean the stalls and in her mind she has convinced herself that she's actually enrolled

No she is not employed by ATI. As least she is not listed in their catalogue under staff.
The students in the equine program clean the stalls.

I can not type so get over yourselves who think everyone can. Some of us just can not. Typing is not a measure of IQ it is just another tool of communication.

That's a shame. Just a thought, I'm thinkin' they really should have used their money more wisely...to pay their bills, attorney fees, maybe pay their family back the thousands$$ they owe them...if it weren't for them taking advantage of THEIR OWN FAMILY, they wouldn't be living in that fancy house and acting like their "poo" don't stink. So, the moral of the story is...if they can take advantage of family, they'll do it to ANYONE.

My friend dealt with her about 3-4 years ago. Bought an expensive (around $7500) wp mare from her. My friend got the mare home and found out she was lame, and badly. She called and called...no answer. She actually drove down there and no one answered the door. Left a note on the door. Britanny called her and freaked out, said she had cameras and tried accusing her of stealing or going through her stuff. My friend said that since you have cameras then why don't you look at them and see that I did not go into your barn. They agreed on a trade, when she brought the lame mare back she traded her for another warmblood mare. This mare was older then what she was told, and had a brand similar to AWS but off enough not to be that brand. I've told my friend to read up on these posts and possibly do something about it, but she has already sold the warmblood mare (and did not misrepresent her) and took a big loss on her.

Do not, do not, DO NOT return any animal to this family without notice or without someone to ensure your safety. Please please PLEASE call the Coshocton County Sheriff's Dept and arrange for an escort. They are getting quite used to doing this for B's "disgruntaled" customers. This farm is out in the country and no one who is a disinterested witness will be able to (a) testify on your behalf and (b) tell the sheriff where the body can be found unless you arrange for a safe escort.
