    Default My Ass is Chapped.

So, as the title says... My ass is chapped. Now, we're not talking Inverness Problem... Moreso that I've noticed rough spots, almost similar to thr feel of a just-beginning callous, directly beneath my seatbones when I'm in a seated position. It's not red or irritated, just... Rough. Rougher than I'd like my bum to feel, especially being a single girl!

Anyone else out there with a chapped ass? Is there a way to remedy this? Or am I destined to have a chapped, calloused ass for the rest of my horsey life?!

    Feel free to laugh.

Maybe you could buy a fleece or gel seat saver for your saddle..?

When I saw the title I thought this was going to be a thread about a donkey.

Happens to me all the time! I use a moisterizer after showering with colloidal oatmeal and that really takes care of the problem!

So you're saying I need to moisturize my ass? Any rconmendations?

And yes, I did intend the title to be somewhat comical, and a little deceiving. Ha!

Me too. That's why I clicked on it. Girls' asses, not much of a desire to check it out. But my sympathy for the ass nonetheless.

Palmers Cocobutter Cream I find amazing with the worst dried, rough skin. I just had my feet wrapped for 5 weeks and there was an alcohol based solution put on them first. The driest, grossest feet emerged but they're pretty soft now.

Burts Bees Almond Milk Hand Cream.
The only thing that makes my heel calluses go away.

Gel seatsaver may be needed too.
Or you could gain some weight.....

Someday that phrase will end up in Wikipedia. And Urban Dictionary.

Mwahaha... there's a newish neighborhood near my parent's house called "Inverness," and every time I drive past I wince and shift a little in my seat. And while I've known the Inverness problem a time or two (thanks, college equitation coaches, I appreciated the fun), I've never experienced chapping in the rear. I guess we should all be jealous, as you apparently have a very good seat.

My husband is a cyclist and cyclists also have this problem big-time. There's actually a cream specifically made for this that is called (and I kid you not) Assos chamois cream (the idea is that you smear some on the chamois of your biking shorts).

There's also Aussie Butt cream and Anti Monkey Butt cream. Really.

    I just use regular moisturizer.

Bear, what you need is a good loofa (sp?), sugar or salt scrub and Origins Ginger body cream. They will make your bum (and the rest of you) baby soft and smooth and smell super good too... Good luck with your behindey.

I rode in a saddle that didn't agree with my seat bones and this happened to me. Every since I switched my saddle I haven't had the problem.

It was kind of odd actually.

Who knew I'd be sharing this information publicly, but vaseline smeared everywhere before riding works wonders!
