I have had Foxy for sale for a few months now and I think due to the economy and the fact that she is not beginner ready at the moment, she is just sitting here.
Foxy is a 6yr green pony mare. She has just been babysitting my retired lesson horse for a while now and would like to have a job. I was using her in my lesson program when I first got her, but I now have more little leadline and walk/trot kids and she needs a stronger rider at the moment. My older kids are off to college and I sadly don't have the time to keep her in work myself.
When she was being used consistently, she was w/t/c nicely and doing small cross rails. She never stopped and wasn't rushing the jumps at all. We even took her to a show to see how she'd behave. She had one buck in the schooling ring, but then went on to be 2nd in the w/t out of 10 and 4th over cross rails. Not too bad for her first show. She loads and trailers nicely, and wasn't spooky at the show.
I have not taken her on trail rides, but the woman I got her from said she did go out on the trails.
The worst she did under saddle was jig a little when you first got on, if she hasn't been ridden in a few days, but she never took off. When I had one of my students riding her everyday she was great. She has been sound the two years I've had her.
She will stand all day to be groomed and I have used her to demonstrate how to groom. She got into the burrs one day and stood for an hour while I got them out. She is a real love.
I'm looking to start out as a lease so I can keep tabs on her, just to make sure she's doing ok, but wouln't mind transferring ownership if the lease worked out.
