I think an off-topic day associated with anything political is a bad idea.

    Maybe Valentine's Day?

    NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not anti off topic day or anything but come on people. We have had more off topic days here recently than they ever had before. And honestly, it has not really been a good thing. We have the new section that lets you post about all kinds of not horse related stuff. What is off topic day needed for? So we can hear about somebodies latest affair and everyone can fight politics again?

Join a politics BB if you want to fight about that stuff. Leave here for horse stuff and an every now and again off topic day.

If you don't like/want an OT day, perhaps you could simply...not enter the OT forum? Just a thought.... No one's forcing you to read OT threads or anything on COTH for that matter

Sure, one can avoid the OT forums, nobody forces us to read them.

But it's sort of hard not to let curiousity get the better of me... heh.

Either way, I'm in favor of LESS OT days, not more. And especially no OT days during politically charged times. Many a time I've gone in there thinking it would be lighthearted fun, only to find another 6 or 7 people who I need to add to my ignore list so my blood pressure doesn't spike.

Not that it's really a huge item of importance in my life, or anything...

I think it would be a very bad idea on such a political day. And I'd say the same no matter who won the election.

Right, the preparations look more like a coronation than an inauguration.
